What is Customer Retention?

Customer retention is the ability of a company or brand to prevent the churn of its customers. It is the sum of all efforts, actions and activities performed by the company or brand in order to retain as many customers as possible, from the first contact throughout the entire lifetime of the brand-customer relationship. A high customer retention rate means that a high percentage of customers tend to continue to interact with the company or brand over a long period of time.
