There’s so much data going around these days, and when summarizing yet another year of growth on the crossroads of actionable-data and orchestration, the task-list is gigantic and housekeeping projects are by the dozen. This can serve as proof of how boiling hot the world of CRM is – the one we envisioned years ago and spearheaded in many ways for about a decade now. More clients than ever, more communications than ever, more data points than ever (and more competition, too).

Today, as Optimove spans across the entire CDP spectrum attaining all its potential capabilities, we are summarizing another record-breaking year, with peak performances in campaign orchestration and optimization. We’re proud to say that a lot of our innovation stems from these areas and from our continued effort to conquer the CRM challenge through cutting-edge advancements such as real-time, self-optimizing journeys.

So, traditionally we wait with celebrating our own year in numbers for February (check out some previous year in reviews, start with 2017 and  2018 ). This year’s timing comes off last week’s blog post, where we announced the acquisition of Axonite, bringing the future of real-time CDPs to the present. What can we tell you, the forward progress never stops. But sometimes it is nice to take a tiny break, look back, and assess where we stand.

So now, without further ado, we present you with the 2019 Optimove Year in Review.

Key Performance Indicators

In 2019, we have seen another increase in various key performance indicators. And as we keep our focus on bringing the most science-first approach to CRM, it’s a good bet that Optimove will be advancing in the coming year, and beyond.

Let’s let the numbers paint you the picture:

The Optimove platform has over 360 clients, managing 1,514,477,925 unique customers worldwide in 2019 – about 33% up from 2018. The majority of customers were communicated more than 30 times!

The number of unique target groups used to create segments among our clients spiked 21% in 2019, reaching 119,283.  Over the years, there has been a substantial increase in growth in the number of target groups, as you can see below – a testament of how marketer’s embrace this approach is getting firmer and firmer.

Our clients sent more than 100 extra campaigns on average each day this year, compared to 2018 (see below). In addition, 8,244,351 unique actions were sent via our platform this past year. That’s an increase of a 23%.

The year 2019 has particularly shown improvement in certain technical aspects, such as unique features that we offer clients. For instance, 5,509,995 “Test-Control” analyses were conducted; that’s a 30% increase compared to 2018 (67% of all campaigns.)

A Breakdown of Communication Channels

Our clients maximized their use of different communication methods. As you can see in the chart below, most of the communication channels saw a drastic increase in percentage in comparison to 2018. This clearly shows that our clients know how to take advantage of all the possibilities that Optimove has to offer when sending out messages.

And while Facebook communications declined, Email sustained its position as King of CRM, with over 9 billion emails sent out last year.

What Lies Ahead

Our 2019 highlights also include more PF events and more attendees than ever before, and two major milestones in the forms: positive inclusions on both Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for Multichannel Marketing Hubs and on Forrester’s Cross-Channel Campaign Management Wave Research reports.

Judging by everything you saw here, and the way we kicked 2020 off, we surely expect to keep going strong – thanks to you. Our clients, subscribers, friends, and critics. We’re all in this together. Have a wonderful year, and decade.
